The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) announced Monday that the CIF value of aviation kerosene imports in August was 7768 yuan per ton, and the ex-factory price of aviation kerosene was increased to 7725 yuan. This is the first time that China has adjusted aviation kerosene prices monthly after announcing last month that it will promote the market-oriented reform of aviation kerosene prices. Subsequently, major domestic airlines announced that they would increase the fuel surcharge for routes over 800 kilometers from 0:00 on August 2 (the date of ticket issuance) to 150 yuan from 140 yuan per passenger before the adjustment, while the fuel charge standard for routes below 800 kilometers (including 800 kilometers) remained unchanged to 80 yuan per passenger.
